A perfectly restored and modernized Land Rover pickup.
Bought in Spain, this 1991 Land Rover Defender 110 pickup required some major restorations before being able to wow passers-by like it does now. Completed by the Unique Masterpieces workshop in Portugal, the custom build highlights the best original features of the design. At the same time, it provides modern performance and comfort. The Portuguese team disassembled and repaired rusted spots on the body before refinishing the metal with a charcoal gray paint that perfectly complements the black leather interior.
A single-cab pickup with a left-hand-drive, the car now features a fully rebuilt 200Tdi 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a LT230 dual-range transfer case. While it keeps its original good looks intact, the car boasts a range of modifications. The workshop changed various components, both on the exterior and inside the cabin. Upgrades include a variable-geometry AlliSport turbocharger, galvanized front bumper, Bilstein shocks and springs, custom snap-on tonneau cover, and LED headlights. The 16’’ steel wheels have a black finish and feature 235/85 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tires.
The new interior boasts air conditioning and a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel as well as a Bluetooth speaker. In terms of materials, the cabin pairs leather bucket seats with an Alcantara headliner and gray square-weave carpets. This custom 1991 Land Rover Defender 110 recently sold at a Bring a Trailer auction for $81,000; a portion of the proceeds will go to the Boulder Crest Foundation. Photographs© Bring a Trailer.
