A tasteful blend of classic and modern, the new FJ Company Signature build is the ultimate, adventure-seeking Land Cruiser. The project started with a 1981 FJ43 Land Cruiser, which the company restored and perfected to make the steel body and chassis look and perform like new. Then came the fun part of transforming the car into a gem. FJ Company designed various accessories, including the CNC machined aluminum side mirrors that bring together design elements from the early 40-series and details from the mid ‘70’s. Apart from the fuel cap cover, the build also features a custom hawse fairlead and built-in LED fog lights by Baja Designs along with a classic Warn 8274 winch on a 40-series bumper.
The exterior now boasts a Dune Beige paint finish, contrasted by elegant gunmetal gray accents which appear outside as well as inside the cabin. Custom door handles, pull knobs, and window levers complement the exposed metal dash and create a sleek look, while the bespoke leather interior and the heated seats enhance the feeling of comfort. A Signature Sound System provides the perfect opportunity to add a favorite soundtrack to off-road adventures. Notable details also include the powerful Toyota 4.0L V6 1GR-FE engine with 240hp. To keep it in check, the team installed a custom suspension system with FOX® shocks and Old Man Emu leaf springs as well as 4-wheel disc brakes.
The FJ Company “Signature” 1981 FJ43 Land Cruiser was displayed at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas. For 2018, the company plans to make 24 of these beauties. If you want one of them, head over to the official site to reserve a Signature build. Photographs© FJ Company.
