Lake Flato

The Lake | Flato architecture practice was founded in 1984 in Texas, by Ted Flato and David Lake. Over 30 years later, the studio employs more than 30 talented architects. Passionate about sustainability, the practice strives to build structures that not only complement their surroundings, but also promote healthy living and a respectful use of natural resources. As a result, Lake | Flato’s projects always strike a thoughtful balance between beauty and sustainability. Rooted in their specific place, the houses feature local materials and work completed by local craftsmen. The projects often blends modern architecture with authentic, creative design. Since 2007, the practice has offset 100% of office- and travel-related carbon dioxide emissions, with around 47% of employees also cycling to work every day.
