I admit it. I’m addicted to my cell phone. Not that it’s any technological wonder, but I am an addict. Especially to the brick breaker game. You’d probably recognize my by my huge thumbs, having played for hours and hours already. This is why I was so glad to find a new phone game. Or rather a toy. This classic tin wind-up telephone toy by German designer Jesco von Puttkamer is uniquely handmade so no one really looks like the other. What I love about my new telephone tin toy with the charming moving receiver, is the way it looks (simple, colorful, vintage appearance tin toy) and the way I feel when I see it and play with it – and this is a feeling no cell phone could ever give you. It brings back my childhood memories, back when delight was a real deep feeling (compare the feeling of kid’s pure delight to today’s “delighted to meet you”…).
It brings back the kid in me – and this time, I don’t have to share my toys! Get your own telephone, boat, a police car, a Swiss car, a set of race cars (two per package) or a Red Cross ambulance! These can both climb uphill due to their asymmetric cross-shaped rear wheel – each of them comes with a manual with instructions for winding it up and surface suggestions.
An important note though – these toys are not suitable for young kids, since they have exposed gears and sharp edges. But for the kids in you – this is the new addiction.
