Andrew Berman founded his eponymous architecture practice in 1995. The NYC-based studio completes projects for an array of clients, including private and institutional. Projects range from residential buildings to public spaces, but every one of them follows a specific formula that connects them to their cultural and local context as well as the clients’ programmatic requirements. The architect also favors noble materials that develop a rich character over time and with use. Andrew Berman Architect has completed work for a wide range of institutional clients, including MoMA, the New York Public Library, and Princeton University. The studio’s work has received numerous awards, including AIA New York Design Excellence Awards, AIA New York Merit Awards, and the Arts and Letters Award in Architecture.
